Birthday lunch on a Wednesday. All courses excellent, with a brilliant understanding of flavour balancing. Small, varied menu. Great puddings. Friendly and attentive service. Highly recommended.Posted on Google Emma BerryTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Absolutely superb from start to finish. I had the Wagyu burger with hand cut chips and honestly one of the best burgers I’ve had in a long time — cooked perfectly, full of flavour, and the chips were incredible. What really impressed me though was the kids menu. £5 for 3 courses and every part of it was genuinely excellent. My daughter had the tomato soup to start which was beautiful, then fish and chips with the lightest, crispiest batter imaginable — proper quality food, not just “kids menu” standard. Finished with soft cookie dough and ice cream which she absolutely loved. Fantastic value, amazing quality, and brilliant service. So refreshing to find somewhere that puts just as much care into the children’s meals as the adults’. We’ll definitely be back.Posted on Google April HendersonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This is the second time I've been here. I would have visited it earlier had I known about it As always, word of mouth is always the best. After a friend gave me a pic of their roast they had had here i couldnt resist. I went for for a takeout as I fancied a Sundays lunch and it had been ages since lid had one. My daughter no longer likes to go out for food (a teen and neurodiverse) and no longer likes Sunday roasts. The fodd came quick and was piping hot. The beef was melt in the mouth and I was full afterwards. I returned the following week and it was even better. Plenty of roast beef, mash potato and turnip, peas, cabbage and carrots; inc a yprkshire pud and the best roast potstoes. All veg was cooked to perfection, nothing tasted frozen. I even got my daughter a roast dinner as she liked the look it from the week before. She's not ate hers yet and if she doesn't then that's my tea also sorted. Gravy was also plentiful and that's the only bit of leftover the poor dog got. I need to visit during the week to sample their other menus and after Sunday lunch I got a receipt for 10 % off, for use during the week. Best find for sunday lumch so far and I have sampled lots!. Great hidden gem, great price and location ( just off A19) and next to Dalton park. The owner is lovely too and came out and thanked me personally for a review I'd put on Trip advisor the previous week A must visit if your ever in the lovely coastal area of Seaham.Posted on Google Michelle AndrewTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The best steak I’ve ever had…not to mention the jam roly poly…or the crisp Rose! I love to visit this place when I’m the area as the service and atmosphere is fantastic along with the menu!Posted on Google Barry HTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Some of the best food I've ever tasted, what an absolute gem of a restaurant. It came highly recommended from local business owners Richard & Denise. The pub itself might not look top notch from the outside but once inside and sat down it is first class, greeted by a friendly welcome given by fabulous staff the service was swift but not at all rushed. All four of us had three courses, and between us we ate nine different dishes, everyone of which was outstanding, absolutely faultless! This is a restaurant we would now go out of our way to visit again, sooner rather than later. Congratulations to everyone involved in making this food experience what it is, Thankyou.Posted on Google Donna WoolnerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Outstanding. Visited the Fox and Tree whilst on holiday in Seaham. Went purely based on the excellent reviews we had seen online. We were not disappointed. We popped in on the off chance of getting a table for Sunday lunch. We were immediately met by a friendly chap who set us up in the snug. We had our large greyhound with us, but this wasn't a problem, despite the fact it was busy. The Sunday lunch was phenomenal. I had the brisket which was succulent and tender, my other half had the rare roast sirloin. He said it was cooked perfectly. All the accompanying vegetables were spot on and cooked to perfection. Deserts were amazing i had the bakewell tart, it was so good. Our greyhound enjoyed himself too, as he was given a complimentary sausage! The meal was so good we booked again for lunch a few days later. We enjoyed it immensely. I had the club sandwich, and my other half had the lamb rump. Both delicious. It is exceptional value for the quality of food. It is clear they care about what they're dishing up. Well done guys!
